BIPASHA ARTWORK-02.jpg

Bipasha Banerjee

My Art is my personal expression of my experiences.
In my life, I have been privileged to be driven and inspired by my hero - my mother. All I did was hold on to her Saree pallu, following her through all the highs and lows of life.
She faced the great, the good, the bad and the ugly, bravely and boldly, experiencing it all without a bias.
She laughed through it all as if life were a game that we were playing and we believed we would always win, come what may.
She taught me, guided me, loved me, chided me and teased me. Whatever she did, each moment was overflowing with fun, adventure and buckets of love.
She taught me to face all situations chin up. Never to give in but to walk on and smile on.
Now, even without her, my journey continues. I am living with the pain and hurt every moment but not without the grace and pride she instilled in me.

My work reflects my stories and experiences and my paintings explore women of India.

I try to explore every small little seemingly insignificant detail of her life that actually shapes her. Her solitude, her friendships, her sorrows, her joys, her triumphs and defeats, her inspirations and dreams, her desires and feelings, all poured out on the canvass of creation.

Her colorful playfulness through her monochromatic moods reflect on the woman as strong bold and definite and yet at other times weak and vulnerable.
Independent, yet clinging onto values and a rooted culture that make her stand out differently and exclusively in the big world.

Be it mythological or the present, the woman's journey traverses space and time effortlessly.
